Rayne Frog Festival 2011:  Children Get in Free!

 The Rayne Frog Festival Association held its January meeting to recap the 2010 festival and make plans for the 2011 festival being held November 9^th-13^th.

With input from those involved in the production of the annual event as well as valuable input from the community regarding admission and carnival pricing, organizers of the 2011 festival are announcing that admission rates will be follows:  Children 12 and under will be admitted free for the duration of the festival weekend and Adults will be admitted for $5 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 3pm.  After 3pm on Saturday admission will be $7 for Adults.  Festival Chair Cheryl Richard says, “We’re very fortunate to have great input from those in the community that are interested in hosting a quality festival in the City of Rayne and the State of Louisiana.  The festival committee has been trying to bring in national headliners to encourage visitors to our great city while balancing it with the desire to give local and regional musicians the opportunity to showcase and open for such headliners.  Unfortunately those types of national entertainers have hefty booking fees that necessitated higher admission fees.  With the economy in the state that it is in currently, we’ve had to adjust our expectations with regards to the ability to bring in national headliners and charge accordingly at the gate.  Our entertainment committee will work diligently to continue to bring in quality entertainment, while trying to keep the cost of admission affordable for those wanting to attend.”

Also noted was a meeting held at the conclusion of the 2010 festival with owners of Miller Spectacular Shows.  Carnival wristband pricing was considered to be a significant factor for those making plans to attend the festival and with the cooperation of the carnival company and festival organizers, there will be wristband pricing for every night of the 2011 festival.  Wristband pricing will be $15 on Wednesday and Sunday, $17 on Thursday, $20 on Friday and Saturday.  Weekend Warrior wristbands (covering Friday and Saturday) will be available by advance purchase only at a price of $35.
